AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — The independent commission investigating the deadliest shooting in Maine history was granted subpoena power to compel witnesses to testify or produce documents Tuesday.
The commission said it's pleased that the Army will make individuals available to testify, a spokesperson said.
Evidence of Card's mental health struggles had surfaced months before the shooting.
In May, relatives warned police that Card had grown paranoid, and they expressed concern about his access to guns.
Then in September, a fellow reservist warned of a mass shooting.
